Oktoberfest – Let the Party & Beer Roll!
Oktoberfest is also known as the biggest show of people in the world. In general, the event associated with fun and party with an endless stream of beer. It is an event full of entertainment with music, art and crafts, food and beverages throughout the weekend. Oktoberfest means "reason to celebrate" & also known as called "Wiesn", which means "meadow" in Bavarian local.
Today is the most popular German festival is also celebrated throughout the world. There are many Oktoberfest celebrations held in countries like Japan and the U.S.. The inherent reason for this is that large numbers of people of German origin living in the U.S. culture and Canada, and also that no can deny that as much food, drink, carnival and other fun activities are involved in this festival so that people are very attracted to join the celebrations.
The origin and history of the event goes far back in time to the 19th century in the Free State of Bavaria in Germany. The first Oktoberfest was held on 12 October 1810 as a wedding celebration for Crown Prince Leopold I and Princess Theressa of Bavaria. About 40,000 people of Bavaria were invited on this occasion and the event five days that ended on 17 with a horse race.
The occasion of the celebration was two, first to thank the Lord for the harvest of the year past and, second, to enjoy the wedding with the people and the family of the state. The meadow where the race took place was named Theresien-Wiese in honor of the princess. So Munich remains the original place in the Oktoberfest is traditionally held, but the celebration takes place in other cities and towns. Millions of people visit 64 acres large Theresien-Wiese. Many visitors come from other countries like Italy and other European countries such as Japan and Australia. German Oktoberfest has evolved as one of the biggest festivals arcross the world and the world with more than six million visitors visit each year.
Besides the Oktoberfest, a second editing takes place in the same place in April / May called as the Father of Munich? hlingsfest (Spring Festival), also known as "Little Oktoberfest". In the U.S. also celebrated in different cities and places, but the former U.S. Oktoberfest is held in La Crosse, Wisconsin on October 13, 1960. In North America big celebrations take place in places like Texas, Wisconsin, Helen, Georgia, Newport, Rhode Island, California, New York, North Carolina and Oklahoma. Outside Germany some cities such as Ohio and Ontario, Canada hosts some of the largest Oktoberfest. The festival begins at noon, when the clock of St. Paul's Church in Munich strikes within 12 hours. One of the highlights of the festival is the parade Trachtenfest in which thousands of people involved in his native Germany costumes.
Oktoberfest parties are very simple and fun to attend. All you need is a pool of German beer to go with lip smacking roast chicken, barbequed fish and potato salad. traditional pretzels and mustard served with authentic German sausages on the grill. The main German beers are served at the festival Pilsner, Bock and Weizenbier and Oktoberfest. Pilsner is bitter in taste and is also commonly known as "Pils." Weizenbier is the lightest of all and Bock is quite strong. Whereas beer popular for the Oktoberfest and is made specifically for the event. Beers are served in pitchers of beer known as Oktoberfest cups heavy glass and typically have a logo decorative beer on the side.
