Wine Vs Beer Alcohol

Celebrity Century Review
Back from our first cruise aboard the Celebrity Century Celebrity and I wanted to post a review celebrity century it is hoped that others can benefit from it.
Some background on our cruise experience. This is our sixth cruise we have taken in recent 20 years, and in no way are what you would call the experts. Nor do we call rookies either. In the past 20 years we have crossed with Royal Caribbean, Disney, Carnival and Holland (twice). We were also lucky enough to reach a financial level in the last three cruises have been at Suite.
Reserve Celebrity Century from Miami Florida, we wanted to have a New Year's Eve Cruise. A word of caution if you are looking for a cruise over any year again will have to book early. For example, the first week of October there were several options on several cruise lines. In the second week of October most all of these options are gone.
We left the port of Miami on December 30, 2009 and returned January 4, 2010.
The Good:
In November 2009, Celebrity launched several all you can drink options. These include:
-Water
-Beer
Frozen drinks (margaritas, daiquiris, etc.)
"The alcohol (the house)
There four of us in our party and we bought a water card card and a beer for the four of us. I can not recommend these cards enough. In the water you receive their choice of silence and sparkling Perrigrino Evian. You get free bottled water in all bars, all restaurants and all day every day. These are not These bottles are small or large bottles of water all the way up to the size of 1.5 liters. During dinner we went with ease through five bottles per night.
The same goes for the beer card. The beer card gives each can or bottle of beer without charge. This includes both national and imports. To make the math work on a business card beer should drink about 6 beers per day. You can only ask for a beer at a time, but on the terrace The pool is four bars in the neighborhood. At first, everyone just took my card for each different bar and ordered a beer. Then one of the waiters came and asked us said he had no reason to come to the bar because the bar would come to us. Then he said we were looking for some good service and slipped a $ 20 in his pocket. That was it, never had to do another race beer the rest of the voyage. Regardless of the number of beers we wanted who brought and put on the card for free. On all cruises you should always tip the waiter at the beginning of cash and I promise you will get better service of what they never had in the past.
A note on the deposit. At first I felt a little guilty when the waiter or waitress gave me a bottle of water or beer and the sliding load was zero, but an additional tip point. Then I remembered that he had known 15% to the cost of the free card. In essence, free of these drinks, pre-payment.
Remember also to corroborate his charge slip to ensure that the waiter did not charge you. We had three separate incidents when the waiter inadvertently charged. The good news is as soon as we pointed out that reverses the burden.
A more professional cruise experience? The cruise on Celebrity Century felt like it was designed for more experienced cruiser. It is very likely that what I am about described is common throughout the Celebrity Cruise Line, but as this is my first and only cruise with Celebrity, I can not say this with certainty.
Compared with all the other cruises I've experienced, I never was sold to. Unlike other cruise ships that was not the constant announcements on the sale of jewelry, auctions art, play bingo, etc. Our mail box and cabin is not full of brochures and coupons that reminds us of it. It was a good rest. This does not mean that famous not keep us informed about what was happening aboard the Celebrity Century. There were occasional announcements and of course, the daily schedule of events was given to our cabin every night. But if you expect to be told what to do next on board the Celebrity Century have been lost in various activities.
Jamaican Waterfall: This is an excursion in Ocho Rios. If you have the physical ability that you should not miss this opportunity. Basically it goes up a waterfall 650. They have guides to take you to the waterfall safely. This is a truly unique and a unique experience.
The Bad and the Ugly:
Room size: As mentioned earlier we have been blessed with the ability to cruise with a suite of the last three cruises. 2 on board Holland and it Celebrity Century. The suite was smaller than the size of a similar set of Holland and the bathroom was 1/3rd the size. We traveled with 3 pieces of luggage. One of the pieces do not fit into the bed or in the closet. The manager of the rooms / butler had no choice so he stayed for five days out. So take a small wooden room to start and now with a piece of baggage to maneuver around five days.
The B: I stayed in bed more comfortable in a college dorm. The are very flat. Worse still was the length. At 63 years my feet easily slung over the edge of the bed. I spoke with a gentleman who was less than 6 in height and told me I had the same problem. It was in a suite so that the bed length should match the type of room. My guess is the beds were short for people to walk around.
Recycling: nonexistent. On this day of being green was a huge shock and disappointment. On board Holland has a recycling trash cans in every room. No on board the Celebrity Century. The good news is that gave less paper to throw as to whether the coupons and flyers, but there are still a lot that could and should be recycled. No doubt in this regard a refusal to Celebrity Cruise Lines Celebrity vs century. The age of a ship should not dictate whether or not offer recycling.
The buffet: The food that was offered was more abundant and the quality was fine. However, in nights, the menu remains the same. If for any reason you do not want to eat in the main dining room of the election were:
"Create your own pasta
-Stir-Fry
-Sushi
-Pizza
What has never changed. All of the above also available at lunch. I've never been on a cruise and have had this experience. I can tell you about what they offer in Holland the main dining room is also offered in the buffet line / coffee.
The Murano: Like other cruise lines, Celebrity Cruises offers a high-end restaurant you can enjoy a price. This fee usually ranges from $ 25 to $ 35 per person. Celebrity Announces Murano, an Italian theme. It's not like any Italian I've ever seen. By example, I have yet to offer is Fuqua (filled goosed liver) in any other Italian restaurant. I'd say it's a French bouillabaisse, Italian and seafood. The problem I have with the Murano is not the food, but the amount. The left hand menu is a 5-course food and wine of course. In the bottom of the menu that says there will be a charge of $ 89 if you order this meal!
So with the celebrity they can have more impact in a longer period end? One thing is offer a higher end dining experience on board and an expensive trip, but you want and then charge an additional $ 89 for a menu selection is absurd. The night we were there in no particular order a 5 course meal so I wonder why it does offer. You may want to limit the offerings at the Murano and this is one way to do so without neglecting its menu appears complete.
7 Mile Beach Grand Cayman Excursion: Some might say that this is not just that against Celebrity Cruise or include in a commentary on the Celebrity Century, but I am well aware that the cruise lines maintain a significant portion of travelers money pay for trips booked through them. Celebrity Cruises is well aware of what they are charging for.
The 7-mile beach in Grand Excursion Cayman is by far the biggest scam of a trip I've experienced. For $ 35 you get:
1. Shuttle bus ride to the beach 7 miles (public beach)
2. 1 free drink (diluted rum mixed with Kool-Aid in the plastic cup)
3. 1 chair grass
And you get to experience when you get to the beach? Water, sand and sun! Would you like an umbrella for sun protection? $ 5 please .. Would you like jet skiing, parasailing, diving, better to present the credit card!
For the four of us cost $ 140 for the bus trip more than 10 minutes, drinking and use of a lawn chair. Take the city bus to the beach – $ 2.50 per person. Take a taxi from the pier to the beach – $ 5 each! I understand that in any situation is buyer beware and you want to be safe on your vacation. There is no amount of money is worth having my family safe. However, in this situation where there is a disparity in the value received compared with normal rates can be called nothing less than highway robbery. Shame on Celebrity Cruises to offer this outing called at this price.
Conclusion:
Lament say that the bad and the ugly outweighed the good in the century of famous. Celebrity takes into account that the ship of the century is the oldest ship in its fleet, but had an update of several million dollars in 2006. Unfortunately what we found disappointing on the cruise was almost nothing to do with the Celebrity Century, Celebrity Cruises, but rather as a whole. When we reached the airport we took a vote on the celebrity and was unanimous any of us probably in the Celebrity Cruises cruise again.
