Whisky Glass Crystal

Please share the view of a glass of whiskey … is for a gift?
I can not decide between "traditional" and "tulip" vessels. Traditional, that is, the bottom is more square and not tapered the tulip. What would a lover of whiskey appreciate more? This person takes each day or so, little by little, enjoying a drink at the end of the day. They enjoy Johnny Walker Black label, among other whiskeys, and usually do not like single malt whiskey drum. I'm thinking of a classic Waterford crystal, but I can not decide which way to go. Suggestions? Thanks:)
I would recommend a traditional glass. The way he describes his giftee, it sounds like they are not especially drawn or obsessive about his whiskey. There are specific glasses of whiskey taste out, but a call to types of whiskey-loving people who can be equated with someone who is a wine buff or "cork hanging" – I am one of them, namely that I am a geek whiskey – but I would not recommend a tasting glass specializing in this particular case what it says. Your giftee simply find them annoying. Stick with the traditional cup, especially if JWB and other blends are favorites _definitely_ your giftee and if your baby giftee his whiskey on the rocks. You should choose a vessel that cradles the hand and one that "feels good." It is the experience. Recommend a smaller vessel – just because you have to put a lot of alcohol in large to make it "seem" like there's something in them at all. And keep away from the square – I find annoying to maintain and annoying to drink. Some thin lips is also good, simply because it is easier to drink from these glasses. Any adjustment crystal glass with the description that work well – after that it is a matter of personal taste and style. If possible, buy in person. Glasses purchased final line being very different once you've done got one in your hand. And finally, the real whiskey in the glass makes a heck of a difference larger than type of glass it's in. Of the dozen different types of glasses of whiskey I have, most of my fancypants vessels are "On the Rocks Double Old Fashioned" by Orrefors Sweden: http://www.amazon.com/Orrefors-Rocks-Double-Fashioned-Pair/dp/B0009XAKR6/ref=combo_pack_i_1 And if you want my personal taste, Waterford crystal I've seen always too exaggerated and, um, grandma-y.
