Why would anyone want saturated timber, have some of us turned into scavengers?

Now if it was barrels of whisky then I could understand.
Police statement on TV tonight said
“The timber belongs to someone and it is an ofFENCE to remove it from the beach”
(Sorry about the pun)
So I would like to see everyone pick up a plank of timber off the beach, then phone the police and ask them what to do with it.
I bet the police would soon change their point of view when the switchboards are jammed with calls
