Whiskey Sour Cocktail History

Teaquila and Marteanis – Tea based cocktails are seeping in Industry
"You know, you can add a splash of tequila to this and Mmmmmmmm …." Roxanne Garcia says our Pomegranate Mojito green tea. Roxanne, who has been with Maya tea for more than five years, has recently added six signature tea blends to their repertoire, including pomegranate Mojito. A pungent tea with mint, lemon and pomegranate, which closely resembles the taste profile of the traditional Cuban cocktail with an exclusion – alcohol. However, this can be remedied from the comfort of your home, advises clients Roxanne anxious.
A new trend has filtered in food establishments and bars deluxe luxury of tea throughout the country. Menus have been decorated with elements of cocktails such as "Silk Road" and "Darjeeling Kiss' cocktails with the delicate flavors of, you guessed it, tea. And why not?
We've all heard of the famous Long Island Iced Tea, which is among the top five percent of most popular cocktails. Those who have experience on both sides of the bar can say that its strange secret – no tea involved. Its base, in addition to the variety of liquors many, is a mixture of sweet and sour and just a little coke, resulting in a very similar taste black tea ice cream. Although the flavor has been bred ratings success, has been only in recent years people have considered including tea cocktails, and we're not looking back.
In Maya Tea, we are promoters of tea time "and also deeply value the cocktail hour, and could not be more excited to join them. Several years ago we created our own tea, cola, the Chaitini. This is a martini and decadent with our rich creamy Spiced Chai Concentrate. Here is the recipe:
- Chai Concentrate 2 oz. (You can also use loose chai, beer only triple action and the use of two ounces of tea)
- Irish Cream 1 oz Bailey
- 1 / 2 oz Kahlua
- 1 / 2 oz vanilla vodka
- 1 / 2 oz Frangelico hazelnut liqueur
- 1 oz Half & Half or Heavy Whipping Cream
Mix ingredients with ice to cool, drain and serve garnished with cinnamon.
Chai tea works well in cocktails with strong spice profile, but it is necessary to improve the dramatic flavors a drink. Even delicate white tea may add complexity and interest of a drink. Take, for example, "Tea Kumquat Mojito, which combines parts equal white tea, rum and simple syrup with half of kumquat, mint leaves, lime juice and soda. Or the "African Sunset", which blends subtle rooibos herbal tea soaked with vodka, amaretto, lime, lemon and sugar. Then there is the traditional iced tea taste that has made Long Island a winner. strong black tea can be infused vodka, just stirring the tea leaves in a few ounces of liquor and let stand at room temperature for 2-5 minutes. The taste of tea is absorbed into the vodka as it would with boiled water, and the strength of the flavors will surprise you. Simply add the lemon juice, ice and your choice of tonic, club soda, lemonade or water and presto, your iced tea tip is complete.
tea liquors have also been a recent introduction to market and serve as an easy alternative to infuse his own spirit. Firefly Vodka offers a line sole basis of tea vodka, distilled four times and infused with fresh tea leaves America's own tea plantation in Charleston. Its line includes a sweet tea vodka, vodka, raspberry tea, peppermint, lemon and peach tea vodkas. As last year a Christmas gift, I enjoyed a bottle of his traditional mix, Sweet Tea Vodka, and was pleasantly surprised by its resemblance to the sweet tea from my grandmother that I loved as a child. All that was needed was a cup of ice and a splash of lemon, and I was hooked. Others companies have made green tea liqueur, such as Zen Green Tea Liqueur and target = "_blank"> Vodka Charbay green tea, you can get away with juice, tonic, lime, or any other sound source to a new turn in any traditional cocktail.
It is important to remember that there are limits to what we observe when drinking tea. Historically, it has led to consequences ceremonial, and most of us imagine drinking tea in a quiet state, meditative. In Japan, tea is sipped in the garden of peace as a means to reflect about the beauty and serenity in life. In England, tea was taken in the evening as a cultural staple and a representation of the class. In the United States without however, tea has led to very different values. He has been the cause of the unrest and strikes, and teahouses served as "singles bars" during the time of Flappers and the time of the ban. In fact it was during Prohibition that whiskey was first introduced in the glass of water. Do not forget that tea, while sensitive and calm, has a wild side, especially in our own history. With this in mind, take a step outside the box and thus get a buzz!
Salud!
