What kind of whiskey did the U.S. sent to the Indians?

Indians had very bad allergic reactions to whiskey because they had nothing to do with that in their culture of origin and was quite strange. What kind of whiskey did the U.S. sent to them? Was Kentucky bourbon? I have serious doubts that was imported from Scotland.

Bourbon produced from rye or corn. This was built by French settlers in the western part of Virginia became the huge country of Kentucky. Kentucky was divided in 1780 and again in 1786. One of these subdivisions was named Bourbon Country, after the Royal House of France. Rev. Country Bourbon Elijah Craig of Bourbon whiskey called his softened. The Indian revolution against the tax imposed on whiskey known as the "Whiskey Rebellion" made the way for the production of bourbon whiskey from the planting of sixty hectares of maize in West Virginia.
