Whiskey Hot Apple Cider

Hot apple cider w / whiskey? Hot Toddies?
When I put the whiskey or brandy in my hot apple cider – not all the alcohol evaporates out? I mean – I do not want to waste perfectly good whiskey
It depends on how hot and how long it is heated. The longer heating feel warmer and becomes less alcohol, the alcohol evaporates at a much lower temperature than water. But do not add the alcohol until you are ready to serve. BTW, the rum in my honest opinion, is much better with hot apple cider. Do not forget the cinnamon sticks.
