Whiskey Green Label

Kentucky Deluxe vs. Evan Williams black ?
I like Evan Williams (black label, not green) as an inexpencive whisky but wanted to get some feedback on how Kentucky Deluxe compares.
Rumour has it that it’s like an inexpencive version of Crown Royal, kinda like how Evan is an inexpencive version of Jack Daniels.
Please only contribute if you’ve had both K.D. and Evan black and can therefore give an unbiased comparasion based on personal experience.
Thank you for your time.
Thank you for the link Cister .. I have already tried Evan and like it enough to have a bottle of it in my liquor cabinet. Having trouble getting insight as far as how it compares to Kentucky Deluxe (which I have yet to try)
Goodie, goodie, a question about whiskey, my favorite drink.
I have had K.D. and Evan Williams as well as a host of others. In my opinion, you cannot compare these two, they are too different.
First off, Evan Williams is a straight whiskey, and K.D. starts out as a straight whiskey, but is blended with a grain alcohol (everclear, basically) for some reason. I used to drink it until a friend called it Kill ‘em Dead, and pointed out that blended fact.
As far as K.D. being referred to as a Crown knock off, I don’t see it at all.
Evan Williams is an OK whiskey, but there are a few out there that cost about the same, and taste better, in my book.
One such whiskey is Old Heaven Hill. Not regular Heaven Hill, but look for Old Heaven Hill. The difference is the proof, or alcohol content, and the fact it is bottled in bond, since it is 100 proof. It is not too readily available, but I live in Arlington, Texas and there are a couple of places nearby that stock it. If you are looking for a knock off to Jack, then this is your stuff! It is charcoal filtered, just like Jack, then charcoal mellowed, just like Jack. The result is a better taste, and by the way, did I mention it was 100 proof?!
Call around, and check to see who carries it in your area. If you can’t find it, email me, and I will send you a bottle. I should be a salesman for them!
