Scrape sides of the container. Mix 2 minutes at moderate speed until smooth. Add nuts. Pour into lightly greased tube. Bake in a preheated oven at 325 degrees for 1 1 / 2 hours until cake is lightly browned and testing. When cake is done, remove from oven and pour glaze over cake in pan. Cool on a rack 1 hour. Remove from pan onto a plate upright. Cake is best when left to the soft overnight before cutting. GLAZE: 1 stick butter 1 c. sugar 1 tbsp. Whiskey 1 cup water, divided To make glaze, melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the sugar, water and 1 tablespoon of whiskey. Boil simmer 10 minutes light. Remove from heat and cool 3 minutes. Add remaining whiskey.
