City Travel With Kids
When friends and family call me crazy to travel with my baby and preschooler to cities like Chicago, New York and Toronto, I just laugh. My children are eating it picnic while watching the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at Millennium Park, climbed to the bars in the shadow of the arch in Washington Square Park and looked through the glass floor in the viewpoint of the CN Tower. It was not always easy to navigate through the streets of the town with two children in tow, it was worth the trouble. I had a fantastic time and I realized the way they talked about traveling for months after my children what we very well also.
The city is full of fun and educational activities for children. From skyscrapers to the first-class museums, children can see and experience things that simply do not exist in small towns. While tours of the city with young children can be challenging, with planning Careful attention to detail and everyone can have a good time. Here are some tips to help your trip without problems:
Take a walk. Even if it has been awhile since your child has used a stroller, you'll be glad you brought. city tours tend to involve a lot of walking from one place to another and from one small get tired easily. With a stroller that can travel in comfort and not worry about him losing in a crowd. I found that job much cheaper umbrella strollers better than the big, high-powered buggies complete with food trays and coasters. Umbrella strollers are often smaller and lighter, making them more suitable for toting up and down flights of stairs or take the subway.
Make frequent stops in play areas. The best part of the visit a city can be simply walking, appearing in unusual shops, watching people and enjoying the energy of the city. Remember that while your toddler or child preschool can be very patient, which has its limits. I have found to stop playing for a few minutes in the courts that it is up to is a great way for children to work off some of its energy. They also love the novelty of playing on different computers on the same terms of age, found in the parks back home.
Carry a travel pack of wipes. Even if you are not a Nazi germ, you'll be glad you did. The playgrounds of the city, handrails and banks can be very dirty, but after a little cleaning with a soft hand feel more comfortable to let her dig into a tasty hot dog from a street vendor.
Choose your restaurants carefully. If you are eating at a nice restaurant to sit down, make sure it is loud enough to absorb chatter your child. I learned that one the hard way when, tired from our long trip, we decided to eat at a restaurant in the house of our Chicago hotel, the kind of place with a quiet and haunting white-gloved waiters. Naturally, my two year old decided to sing the "tiny spider" over and over again. We just with food sent to our room. The next night we chose a popular restaurant, Italian very active, where little was stronger than anyone else in place.
Plan of activities for children. The big cities offer all kinds of educational activities and of interest to children of all ages. Do a little online research and guides early age to find a few places for your child. Has more than twenty years who took part in any of these activities yourself? You just might find yourself enjoying the skeleton of Tyrannosaurus rex in the Natural History Museum and see the polar bears glide through the water at the zoo.
Plan activities for adults. Destinations such as art museums may still be on the agenda, but keep in mind the limitations of his son and be ready to cut the trip if necessary. Try to engage him in the art museum. Ask questions like: "What see in this picture? Do you see a boat? What image do you like most in this room? "Visit any of the children the museum's exhibits may have and ask at the counter of information that are the most successful exhibits for children.
Take the bus or metro. Mass Transit is an adventure for a child small town. After the journey is long, going to talk about it as much as the bones of dinosaurs. Try to avoid traveling at rush hour, however, when the can of sardines atmosphere could be overwhelming for a small.
