Do I have a drinking problem/Will i have a problem?
So I started drinking when I was 14. I never drank much and just drank a little here and there. Now I’m 16 and I’ve gotten drunk 4 times in the past month. I know that’s not a whole lot, but I really really like the feeling when I drink. Like after I take a shot, I get this feeling that I’m on top of the world. Last weekend I had like 8-9 drinks, and was kind of wasted (I’m a 16 year old girl, 125 lbs).
Neither of my parents are alcoholics but my grandfather was a hardcore alcoholic that had major issues. There have also been some other issues with alcoholism and depression on that side of the family.
I also think I had depression last semester. I have a history of self-harm and have dabbled in some other drugs.
I know the amount of drinking I do at my age is by no means unusual, but should I be wary?
I’m not looking for someone to preach, but just an honest opinion.
