Can I buy Scotch Whisky future?

"I can buy future of Scotch that I do in the wine? Step 25 in a year and a half and I would like get a bottle of the Year by birth. Perhaps two. Yes I would appreciate. Although still a young man (a years worth of tasting and reading), I am a big fan of single malt scotch. With that, if I can (I could do it regardless), has anyone actually tried whiskey 25 years? Any suggestions? If not, there is probably an Ardbeg around with my name on it. If not, I'll fix with the 1985 vintage of Lagavulin 21 years (I love Lagavulin). Haha! SixPack Bravo!

Yes, but not in the style you describe. Bruichladdich Octomore sells futures. There is a limit case 1 (no more, no less) and which is buying year in the distillation. Then the barrel and after that came to their criteria for maturation, it is bottled. They run about 6-8 years. This is where you can buy: http://www.laddieshop.com/acatalog/Futures.html (made by the store site reveals some clever things) The brazen solution would be to find a store luxury liquor and pick up a bottle of whiskey 25yo when he does turn 25. Other than that, you can simply compare for different companies to see if they have a 25yo available. The Stores can not always have a certain distillery 25 all the time, but you know when you are planning a statement. You might even have either pre-orders available or can point to where they will be transported when they do release (many places can not sell directly, they have to go through a distributor and retailer).
