Scotch Whisky Mixed Drinks

I have a bottle of Chivas Regal Scotch Whisky 12yr years as a gift and do not know the best way to drink. Straight up, mixed with sprite over ice with a little water. Suggestions?
usually served on the rocks or with a splash of water, do not ruin sprite. Scotch is a pleasure acquired, give it a try, by the way – great gift
