I heard a recipe with only flour and beer. but that would be plain? What are some things could put in it to make it a little … I do not know tasty?

Beer Batter Ingredients: 1 12 oz light beer 1 1 / 2 cups flour 1 / 2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon paprika 1 cup flour Instructions: Pour the beer into a large bowl. Sift flour, salt and paprika into the beer, whisking until mass is light and fluffy. (The batter can be used immediately or stored in the refrigerator up to 1 week, but be sure to whisk occasionally.) Heat at least 2 inches oil in a frying pan or electric skillet. Just before it reaches 375f, quickly dredge the onions with flour, shaking off excess and dip in mixture of beer, and coating, and place them in hot fat (do this in 2 batches). When they are brown on one side – Less than 1 minute – turn and brown on the other side. Drain on paper towels.
