Why is my roommate locked in a cage

It all started on Friday night as most of Friday night, sitting around of the house, quietly watching television and listening to music with my roommate, knocking back a few brewskis. Now, my roommate is a high performance alcoholic if you admit it or not. Have a job that is able to awaken in time to miraculously sometimes can do things without alcohol, but usually is good to see sports drunk, drunk, listening to music or watching a movie drunk. That's all he does. Anyway, back to the story. It's a Friday and my roommate is already quite deep, probably 6 or 7 beers deep and 8pm only. That's when he started taking shots and making mixed drinks for him and I realized that going to go anywhere tonight, because I would have to see my roommate to make sure it did not fall off the balcony, get the police called a complaint noise, break things, or generally wreak havoc in the apartment alone. I was not happy with this because I was planning on meeting some friends after so I asked him if he was thinking of getting picked to go out later or something. I have not had much of a response and continued drinking. I would not allow my roommates alcoholism and inability to do something stupid when drunk and just ruin my night, so I dropped out and had fun with friends without alcohol. But before I tricked my roommate into the big bird cage that had bought for this specific purpose in the novelty shop. With him I locked up properly, slid the key into his pocket and went to the night. Have I mentioned that establishes some old newspaper to him too?
