Tres Amigos Mexican Restaurant
With offices in Gibsonia and Beaver Valley Mall, the restaurant Tres Amigos is a welcome addition to the Pittsburgh dining scene. The locally owned Mexican restaurant is much better and more authentic than any of the major national Mexican restaurant chain. Apparently, based on recipes chef's grandmother's, the Three Amigos has a nice variety of food at a good price.
The Scene
The walls of the Three Amigos are brightly colored and decorated with a few Mexican items or paintings.
The Food
The owners of the Three Friends describe its operation, which is based on Grandma's recipes of the family whose kitchen was well known in his region of Mexico. Everything that contains cheese is made with traditional Mexican white cheese instead of yellow cheddar employee usually everywhere, which helps add to the flavors. There is an unusually large vegetarian selection, too.
How hot is?
That's a common question asked about foods of Mexico, and most dishes in the Three Amigos are not very spicy compared with most Mexican restaurants. Some are pretty hot – so surprising, actually. Most of the places where I've had Chile Relleno was very mild; here it was very hot (also claims to be a pepper, not a chile pepper). El Poblano Chile was similar hot.
Salsa & Guacamole
Every Mexican restaurant serves chips and salsa before the meal, but they serve a sauce, like the Three Amigos. Cilantro is prominent, but not arrogant. It is heavy on the onions, but not too spicy. It is done at home and the sweet taste is far superior to what we normally get in restaurants in the chain. Tres Amigos salsa can be purchased in small tubs to take home. The guacamole, however, knew well, but mixed with sour cream in large measure – an unusual move that detracts from its flavor.
Appetizers and Munchies
We split the Nachos with the Works – beef, chicken, beans, guacamole, sour cream and cheese. It compares very favorably with the nachos you can get elsewhere and is probably better than most. The use of cheese flavor helps make it stand out above the Most of the nachos we had. Like most things we tried on the menu, the spice in the nachos was very mild.
Drinks
When ate in the Three Amigos, which had no liquor license yet, so no margaritas, beer, or anything like that. There is a large bar, however, what they can expect these drinks in the near future. Fountain drinks and teas come in large glasses with free refills at most. There are also a number of sodas Mexican specialties, juice, and something called a Orchata – a rice drink made with cinnamon, vanilla and sugar. It's a little sweet and very different flavor.
Combos & Offers
There are more than a dozen different combo deals offered three main themes (enchiladas, burritos, tacos, chalupas, tamales, quesadilas, etc), and beans and rice. Grains are creamier than is usually the case and the softest of rice. These combos are priced well and provide a very good value for what you get is quite to fill usually less than $ 10.

The Three Amigos staff was friendly and helpful. The waitress was knowledgeable about food and could answer questions about what was in the dishes and I knew a.

Los Tres Amigos can found near the JC Penney at Beaver Valley Mall The original Three Amigos is located in Gibsonia and the new location is a welcome addition to dining in the area of Beaver Valley Mall They were much better and more authentic than Chi-Chi ever. In the past I liked to eat at Don Pablo, but recently the quality of the menu has decreased and I have not enjoyed eating there as much.
Now, however, I will not feel the loss of any of his restaurants almost the same amount. There are several more things that I like to try on the menu at Tres Amigos and I eat there again.
