Where I can buy beer and spirits in Uganda in the UK?

Hello, I frequently travel to Uganda to work, which has led to the suggestion that I have a theme party of Uganda! Unfortunately I just had my last trip there for a while, and everything I have in stock is a bottle of Waragi (Uganda Gin). Does anyone know any shop in the south of England, or any online store where you can buy beverages from around the world? So far I've only managed to find a site populations of Bell beer, but is currently out of stock – anyone have any idea? Thanks,

I have a friend in the business of importing of certain spirits from abroad. When available, I will talk to her to see if he can shed more light on this issue none of which is below. [Update] Here's what he said: "Actually, yes. At the end of my road in London (conveniently) is Kampala fresh food – selling waragi, albeit at a ridiculous price of £ 1.10 an envelope. Not sure about Krest but has plenty of rich nostalgia in other products. The westbound Green Road, Seven Sisters – If you get off the tube at Seven Sisters (Victoria Line) and walk along West Green Road for about five minutes, is in his left hand. They also speak Luganda, and LOVE if you can talk to them! Also There Waragi in London at a place called Owino Supermarket in London Road in Mitcham (well technically so it is not central London). You can get the tram to Mitcham Junction or a bus from Tooting. They also sell other delicacies of Uganda as Mirinda fruity, Club and Nile Special Mix Mchuzi. Good luck. Xxx "So – that there have it. A store and a supermarket. —————— If it's a theme party in Uganda, spirits and beers do not have to be of Ugandan origin – Think about it more outside the box … for example. Cocktails. —————– Given that you have to travel to Uganda to work, surely must have some contacts there – why Why not ask them to purchase and send you the finished material? Can Western Union, MoneyGram them the cash. Not many of Uganda and other ethnic businesses located around London. There is a market outside Brixton tube station and to Electric Avenue that has a stall selling Waragi. I remember seeing there this summer … She called him "U-Gi" or something similar. I do not drink, but it was an unusual alcohol. I was interested. I can not remember the name of the holder of the post, although I'm sure if asked, be pointing in the right direction. Your best bet in this country (I will import in a moment) is finding more of Uganda ethnic area and visit their local markets and shops. The note of imports, I found this – can be an area worth investigating if you are looking to create a portfolio Uganda alcohol in the UK and beyond personal connections, there are few that deal with the types of alcohol that are described to be reliable or have action: A call to a police station where an individual entrepreneur ensure that you receive your product. ————- Police, security guards who abuse alcohol top – Report Monday, October 6, 2008 By Ganzi Muhanguzi LA Police and personal security are among the largest consumers of alcohol in the country, a report by an organization Youth Defence has revealed. Uganda Youth Development Link in its report "The State of Alcohol Abuse in Uganda" says more than 500 police officers last year reported that the serious problems of alcohol. According to the report, released yesterday by Rogers Kasirye, the executive director, there is a focus on education Alcohol and support among these institutions. In terms of geographical distribution, Karamoja and Isingiro top districts with the highest alcohol abuse. "Karamoja recently banned alcohol because people were drinking in poverty, "he said. The investigation also revealed that 22% of patients admitted to centers psychiatric across the country are suffering from ailments related to alcohol. Unlike Western countries, people consume more alcohol in Uganda as they age, the study found. "This trend is probably one of the main reasons we have a low life expectancy," said Kasirye. He added that accessibility of alcohol to young people was very high, with more education institutions to be surrounded by bars and nightclubs. "We found that Makerere is surrounded by over 500 bars, with about slums like Kikoni, Katanga and Kinvulu sell both local and conventional brands of alcohol. "He further noted that, while countries neighbors had banned production of tot packs containing alcoholic beverages are allowed in Uganda yet. "Some of these packages sell for as low as SH100, making alcohol very accessible to both minors and unemployed youth, "Kasirye said, adding that he had appealed to government to ban the packs. He attacked the beer industry and the media for aggressively advertising alcoholic products without trying to show the other side of the story. "Nobody is emphasizing that alcohol has adverse effects on the population. We call upon the media to be more balanced in their ads. "The report, which recommended stronger action from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and the Uganda National Bureau of Standards, also urged the Government to raise taxes on alcohol products. "If the government not to raise taxes on alcohol, it will become more accessible to Ugandans, deepening our already bad situation, "Kasirye advised. Uganda is ranked number one of the largest consumers of alcohol in the world with a consumption rate of 19.5 liters per person according to a World Health Organization 2005 report. —————- In view of this report, it appears that most of the alcohol produced in Uganda is consumed in Uganda … It will probably be difficult to achieve the same through imports unless you have a personal contact, in situ, that is willing to help send things you. Good luck finding some and I'll update this in the top, after talking to my friend.
