I have a question about the barman?
I want to be a waiter and I'm serious. I have zero experience behing a bar. I enrolled in an online course www.ebartendingonline.com and it was really very informative. I learned a lot from him. But I need experience behind a real bar. What should I do now? Should I apply at a bar no experience and begins as a Barback or should I go to bartender school? Personally, I think bartending school would be very beneficial if taken seriously, but a lot of people here has been telling me it is a waste of money. People with experience. Can anyone tell me why you think school is not a good cocktail idea. Please be specific because they teach how to make a lot of drinks, how to run the bar, and a lot of things. How can you hurt? I figure if I go and get a job as a Barback, take me forever to learn everything. Who will train me and give me work. There is plenty of competition. Please answer this from experience.
