What is your definition of the American dream?
Well, I want to live in New York in a nice apartment with a large closet, (prefebaly Manhattan) an impressive Fashion Buyer / Editor / buyer. Wear impressive, Manolo Blankniks, Martinis, a wonderful boyfriend (perhaps a husband later), talk sex with my friends 3 closets, and just having fun making a name for myself in the city. By the way I live in DC. LexDiamonds-What Caribbean country are you? I'm Dominican, Jamaica and Puerto Rico, from the side of my dad and my mom is just a regular Black American. I have not even meet my family before the Islands … The only I knew my father's mother and she is deceased.
LOL I like how this vision of the American Dream sounds like Sex in New York (Manhattan wack and certainly overestimated MADD … I am a New Yorker) My American dream is owning the property to live, if your a man or an Apt-House without unnecessary financial debt security-job security, university or other higher education Good Lookin bourgeois-children-closet full of sneakers lmao, at least one environmental money cars to visit the fam in the West Indies and the United Kingdom of money to sponsor so maybe a relative that can pursue the American dream themselves. the most important thing for me is being able to maintain my cultural identity, without the pressure of mainstream America assimilate. I prefer dem Pinckney inna society in which they live do not get judged negatively for arbitrary real sh * t like the way they talk or dress, or when their parents came, what they look like, etc. Ah, and more …. clink NO tolls on bridges and roadways NY! as raising everythin and its freakin impossible to drive anywhere. EDIT: damn near all of em … lol My mother is Dominican and Haitian, and my father is from San Cristobal, but his mother was in Anguilla and Antigua and Nevis father.
