"Shaken, not stirred."
No: steamed vegies with skinny latte. The tag line preferably fictional British agent James Bond Martini is a cocktail party icebreakers corny. What many people may not know about Bond is that the man loves his food as he loves his wife. In the book Diamonds Are Forever, Bond says the Tiffany Case love interest that his idea of a child is a person that can make the sauce béarnaise, as well as love.
But what does a man could die while saving the world consumption? And I could enjoy Bond mere civilians do and live to Die Another Day?
James Bond is a character created by Ian Fleming in 1953 and has since lived adventures in 12 books, two collections stories and movies 23. The murderer cool and collected Soft saves the world and their way through the casinos with the same ease as a free fall of buildings high – the closest thing to a superhero-real life anyone can aspire to be.
In fact, it is much easier for mere mortals to eggs Benedict, instead of going on an embassy of the USSR or convert a lesbian to heterosexuality. Fleming's why I wanted the reader to taste the life of Bond, if not through blood sweat and then through what I ate:
My contribution to the art of novel-writing has been the attempt of the total stimulation of the reader throughout, even your taste buds.
In one of many descriptions dinners, Fleming delivered the reader with the richness of Bond breakfast routine:
Session to The Times, the breakfast in two large cups of strong coffee, from De Bry in New Oxford Street, made in an American Chemex and an egg served in a dark blue egg cup with a gold ring around the top, boiled for three minutes and three. There are also whole-wheat toast, butter Jersey and a selection of Tiptree jams "small bur Scarlet ', Cooper's Vintage Oxford marmalade and Norwegian heather honey from Fortnum and Mason, are shown in blue porcelain Minton. Breakfast is prepared in May, his Scottish housekeeper, whose friend supplies the mottled brown eggs from French Marans hens. [From, the website of James Bond Dossier www.tjbd.co.uk]
As you can read, no more than a little name-dropping, but Fleming did not receive any endorsement-that was before product placement took a grip on the film with its lingering shots of Omega watches and BMW badges.
Fleming Why do food and drink as a focus in his work both as a description of the battle and the scars whim of the sample coward? villains Why, Bond ordered Caesar salad possess over-the – mayonnaise and bacon, croutons, is any woman who wants to jump in bed with your abs no-carb? A man's man meat is a demon, an expert on how dangerous and rare. willing to risk the wrath of protectionists around the world caviar, blini-covered launches beluga in the mouth with almost the same sample after getting a lot of blame Walther PPK back in its holster.
What do you think would be Bond's favorite food? Something big, like confit of smoked venison with raspberry and truffle oil jus rosti, or would be more in firecrackers' British 'n' mash? It's a bit in the middle-simple, good quality ingredients prepared with care, "just like that." There is even a recipe for Fleming's James Bond for scrambled eggs humble.
Throughout his travels around the world, Bond flavors of local cuisine as well as samples of local women. When the CIA counterpart Felix Leiter in the U.S., which eats Little Neck Clams and Fried Chicken Maryland. In France it is cold lobsters, in Italy, green tagliatelle. Universal anywhere, anytime, is the staple food of oysters, beluga caviar, eggs (Benedict XVI, in concotte, scrambled) and any variety of grilled meats accompanied by potatoes.
In general, Bond eats pretty well, a good balance of proteins and carbohydrates. It also feeds on fruits such as fresh figs, strawberries and pineapple. His aversion to cream sauces, is more than the snobbery of the health believe it masks the flavor of poor meat quality. This is not a man to eat donuts in a surveillance operation.
But the fall in their way of life is the alcohol, cigarettes and coffee. And not just because of the drugs tied to her as Dr. No.
Drink
By the time of Thunderball, (9th book) Bond daily intake of spirits is about half a bottle. And that does not even include other beverages such as champagne brands cited: Dom Perignon, Bollinger, Taittinger, Veuve Cliquot y.
Fleming describes the role of alcohol in 007 of life:
"Drink relaxed Bond. His only rule was not to drunk, but maybe in 20 years had just gone to bed cold sober. Their rules were not other drinking at lunch or after dinner, and never to drink spirits. "
The website 'Atomic Martinis' Bond has been estimated that 431 drink more than the standard as the Martini cocktail poison of choice; like the Vesper, the old, the Negroni and the Americano.
No wonder he had developed his own hangover cure of a prairie oyster egg yolk [, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco, vinegar and] of tomato sauce.
To stay awake for long patrols, Bond drink coffee, usually a name-dropped straight black Jamaican blend. Despite being in his secret service Maj, tea was described by Fleming and Bond through the floor, soft, a loss time the opium of the masses. "
Smoking
In the film version of You Only Live Twice, Bond uses a Q-branch cigarettes explosive weapon secret because of distraction to him long enough to sabotage the rocket fire. This was not the only danger of cigarettes smoke a day Bond 60 special blend as the Balkans and Turkey with three gold bands on the filter.
If civilians were to live the same lifestyle, only without the ski slopes Switzerland and swim with the sharks, would undoubtedly our pickled liver, lungs and our sizzle from an overdose of smoke. The rich seafood dishes from butter would lead to clogged arteries of fat, although preferred ingredient of the eggs can counteract this.
However, having a license to kill means that you live every day as the last. Sure, the liver and the heart is likely to have a short countdown and a nuclear explosion in the next Knox, but Bond needs the energy to fight the murderers, to seduce the ladies, and hunting evil. Boy is fiction Fort. In real life would be a chubby, mumbling alcoholic with poor blood circulation.
But Bond said only live twice:
I will not waste my days trying to prolong them, I will use my time …
So one night as James Bond will not hurt.
But do not cook yourself, as man is recommended: web site [: The Commander of the Club]
Show no knowledge of how the food is really prepared. You've never cooked a meal in his life. What you eat are executed either by the Scottish treasure to keep house for you or a girl or a restaurant. In his world, a meal appears, is consumed and vanishes.

The champagne seemed to have the slightest scent of strawberries. It was cold as ice. After each portion of crab, champagne to cleanse the palate the next. Ate steadily and with the absorption and barely exchanged a word until the plate was acquitted.

Described in Fleming's exciting cities
.. . The Edwardian Room at The Plaza, a corner table. They did not know there, but he knew he could get what they wanted to eat – not like Chambord or Pavillon with its irritating Wine Foodsmanship and in the case of the latter, the miasma of a hundred different women's scents to confound your palate. There would be a more dry martini at the table, then smoked salmon and scrambled eggs particular, who had once (Felix Leiter knew the head waiter) instructed them how to make:
For four individualists:
12 fresh eggs
Salt and pepper
6.5 oz of fresh butter.
Break the eggs into a bowl. Beat well with a fork and season. In a small cauldron (Or heavy bottomed saucepan) melt four ounces of butter. When melted, pour in eggs and cook over very low heat, stirring continuously with a small egg beater.
While the eggs are slightly more moist than it would like to eat, remove the pan from heat, add remaining butter and continue whisking for half a minutes, while adding the finely chopped chives or fines herbes. Serve warm with butter on toast in individual copper dishes (for appearance only) pink champagne (Taittinger) and the music low.
