When and why become synonymous martini cocktail?
A martini has two ingredients and a garnish. That's it! Gin or vodka, vermouth and a garrison … No chocolate, no Tang, no pop rocks …. who started this trend and why? I am 100% sure that this trend was started by someone who hates the taste of vermouth, but loved the "modernity" factor a drink in a martini glass. FWIW, all rules of martini recipe-I have not run across yet use a database primarily of vodka or gin … so at least cocktails with other primary alcohols apparently did not get the name of martini.
