If you are learning to be a bartender or want to start earning extra money as a private party Bartender (A waiter who works weddings, parties, etc), it is important to know what tools you really need to be familiar with and which should own before you start.
The following is a brief list of the most essential tools barman. Excluding the CADA tool, but MOST will discuss the most important.
1. Your Shaker
As a waiter, the agitator is the most important part of his arsenal. WHY? To begin with, so that the drinks are made with this tool (Shots, martinis, etc.) that need one that works and works well. I highly recommend you spend a little longer to get a shaker that is high quality. Can you easily open and clean, or does it get stuck? You can go with the 3-piece shaker (easier to use) or fancy cocktail Boston (the most impressive the guests!) The choice is yours!
2. Bottle opener / key wine
You need a tool that will open both your beer and bottles of wine. Just a quick Google search, and discover hundreds of different types of bottle openers designed for speed, quality and efficiency. Depending the type of bar you work cases, you may want to get one of these stylish speed openers. But the real trick is to own more than one starter. You lend it or lose it, and never want to be taken by surprise, without adequate starter.
3. Pourers speed
You can pick up weir speed of only a few dollars and greatly increase the speed and efficiency and precision when you pour the liquor. If you are working private events this is a MUST!
4. Towel
I know it's not very exciting, but a towel bar (or more) is essential! No one wants a bar superior wet or sticky. You should ALWAYS do our best to maintain that impeccable top bar!
5. The rest
Other tools include: Muddler (for mojitos!), Bar knife, adorn the shelves, store-n-pour (for juice), and a bar spoon. Remember, the tools are your friends, because are designed to make your life easier! Do not be intimidated by them! Learn how to use them and feel comfortable with them.
