Why do many people claim that living in Costa Rica is expensive? I go there every year for two weeks
and the best time of my life – Nothing is missing, traveling all over and only spend about $ 1500.00 for everything. Your Beer – it's the best in the world – "IMPERIAL IMPERIAL & LIGHT" only costs around $ 2.60 a six pack and the coffee is great costs absolutely only about $ 2.75 a pound in stores its edible! You can not beat that! I found the low prices that at least one third cheaper than our prices here in the States! PURA VIVA LA VIDA!
Compared with things here in the U.S., Costa Rica is cheap. But if something is cheap or expensive is all relative anyway. Compared to Honduras, Costa Rica is expensive. Going on vacation in Costa Rica against Hawaii, is cheaper, but buying a car or a refrigerator, for example, in Costa Rica is generally more expensive due to import taxes, etc. It all depends on your perspective!
