There are plenty of adventures to be had in Tahoe, but the two basic types are Land Adventure Water Adventures.
Land Adventures
There is much to do in Lake Tahoe for lovers of the outdoors in summer, so start with the move easier and more manageable and even the harshest and most extreme. We have a bit of sunshine and good weather. Typical summer temperatures range from lows overnight in the high 40s and 80s (average). You receive plenty warm for hiking, biking or horseback riding and even camping, and almost never rains in the summer time.
Tahoe and Mountain Biking Hiking
Some would say that Tahoe is the best place on the west coast for epic mountain bike cross-country, some would say that the country some would say the world. And you need not look beyond the Tahoe Rim Trail (tahoerimtrail.org) to start. without exception, the best road bike out, remote and wild hiking and trekking in the Tahoe Basin can be found somewhere on this scenic trail 150 miles long. It's just a matter of how much you want ride or walk to get there.
By far the most popular section of the TRT for hiking and biking is the Flume Trail (theflumetrail.com). The Flume Trail began life as a channel to siphon water from Incline Village, Nevada, on the eastern shore of Lake Tahoe over the Carson Range on the Truckee Meadows, and to the city of Virginia, high in the mountains of Virginia NV. To access the canal park either in the beginning of the Tahoe Meadows trail in the forest. Rose Pass on HWY 431, or in Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park on Hwy 50 at Spooner Summit (http://parks.nv.gov/lt.htm). Get a map when you rent a bike or plan your trip on a ferry in any department stores. Both rides finish just outside Incline Village, Nevada where you can walk along the beach to cool off at Sand Harbor State Park (http://parks.nv.gov/lt.htm), or visit the city for burritos, burgers, beer and unwind after a long journey.

Tahoe Road Biking
Several times during the summer you can get in a big group ride that goes all the way around Lake Tahoe on smooth surfaces paved roads. The ride 72 miles around the lake is perhaps the most popular long journey. It has been in high traffic areas, and has long strenuous climbs. Popular Walk of death (http://www.deathride.com/), organized by a local bike club is held every July and covers 129 miles and 15,000 feet of climbing. In addition, the Tahoe Sierra Century (http://www.tahoesierracentury.com/) runs every September and circumnavigates Lake Tahoe on a supported bike tour.
Camp & trekking in Tahoe
Although Tahoe is best known for its hotels, restaurants and casinos, some people prefer camping on their holidays. And honestly, if you are looking for a real adventure, you should be sleeping on the floor.
There are plenty of options for camping right down on the lake in Nevada beach just a few minutes Stateline and South Lake Tahoe along Highway 50 in Roundhill, Nevada. You can see views of the sunsets over the mountain. Tallac desolation and desert from their fire.

In Tahoe City you can rent a tube or raft and float several miles down the Truckee River. Trips start near the outlet of Lake Tahoe on Highway 28 and 89 intersect and end several miles a scenic calm lazy river.
