Discussion: the sport and violence?
Is it true that most sports are violent? Take rugby, ice hockey, and boxing, for example. Do you think most sports are in fact unnecessary glorification of violence? Some doctors in the past have called for boxing to be banned because of the many deaths caused by crashes on several occasions in the head. Do you agree that boxing should be illegal? I am doing a debate in French and I need some ideas or I'm dead. Thanks for the help.
No, I do not think most sports are violent. However, a lot of sports are becoming violent because the public likes. Before ice hockey, which would be a fight maybe twice a season. The fans thought it added to the game. Now there a fight in every game, and people are seriously injured. Even some of the fans are getting involved. Most sports are not intended to be violent. They are meant to be competitive and challenging. In the case of boxing, I think just go to the boxers long with him. Or rather its supporters to go along with it. While some can make money from it the fight will continue. I do not think that boxing should be illegal, but I think there must be rules and laws as to how often a fighter can fight.
