Ice Box Refrigerator History
At first I was disappointed. After paying $ 42 CA, no bears were in sight. There were several people in the viewing area. Habitat has two parts separating the male of the two women. Each of the areas is quite large, big enough for a medium sized home with enough space to cut the grass! Outside the entrance to the display area and adjacent to the bears swimming pool area where people can "swim with a polar bear." Separation people of the bears is plexiglass. In one of his tracts are six people "swimming" with a bear that has a carrot trying to share with them. It is difficult to say that there is a separation! If it was warmer today, my wife would have been taking the pictures.
Finally a bear came from the area waiting to carry the fenced area. She (we later learn) stopped halfway looking at the fence and moving the jaw as if in distress. I took some photos through the glass, which is the closest they were allowed to go. As it was coming closer we decided to see Heritage Village which is included in the price.
The first building housed teams entered the old tractor. All had metal wheels. One was from 1922. A store that had samples of the goods very old that was sold during that time. The doctor's office had a barber chair, an old operating table, a place to sterilize their equipment, and several stethoscopes of age. The place was the home of a person with a wood stove, refrigerator old who acts like a refrigerator, a nice living room, a bathroom "area" I had a metal tub and a chair with a hole cut including a pot with a lid on top of the chair. He also had two bedrooms and some old clothes to hang.
I liked the old school house room with desks and books. The cabin was a hunter of the room with a bed, a place for a bucket of water (I would not call a table), and some elements of food storage. The latrine was almost real.
When we arrived at the gas station a man he knew of its history to share their knowledge with us .. There was a 1932 Plymouth that will be promoted and displayed in the city, on Sunday, Canada's birthday. He said that all containers original oil and complete. The cash register rang was $ 2.99 as follows: 2 90 9. That is as high as the cash register could go because of fuel at that time was so cheap.
Oh, somewhere in a new century saw the milking machine, but could not determine how much power. The sample was behind a barrier wooden fence, so we could not touch anything. The Heritage Village undoubtedly transports us in time. There were old tractors and snowmobiles as well.
Back to the visitor area bear left. One employee, who works with bears, I was talking with some people and saw a bear this out. Then I saw the other female down by the fence. The girls are 600 pounds and the male weighs between 800 and 1000 pounds. The girls are twins and had been orphaned, like the male.
Were now unique in the visitor center. The girl who was lying began playing with a plastic barrel they have. Once entered into the pool she jumped and came up with a large carrot, two or three inches in diameter! There was a big party. At that time I was taking pictures inside.
Outside, a tall fence surrounding the perimeter of the bear's pen. A second, 3 or 4 feet high around me from getting too close. I hope I could get a couple of good shots of his face. His sister was again next to the fence separating the two areas, which also has an area of 10 feet or more between the two pens. Although the male and female, were separated from each other, sit and talk to each other. Last year, the three together, one girl lost her hair to his black skin making people think it was a black bear. But tests showed all are normal and healthy. This year they are separated. We spent and hour or so in the area of visitors who are talking to a young woman who works there for the summer and answer questions. She will begin her high school years in August. We learned a lot from it.
