Ice Box Esky

Food Safety and storage when camping holidays
Remember these food safety and storage tips when camping and holidays to avoid stomach upset all problems, that nobody wants at any time especially when away from home on vacation.
When using an esky or cooler and ice for perishable foods, do not wait until you run out of ice before buying more. The ice is readily available at service stations bottle stores, supermarkets and general stores, even in remote areas, have been camping when we found we could buy ice almost everywhere. Keep your refrigerator esky or in the shade at all times and keep food in plastic containers or bags of water tight.
Keep your drinks in a separate esky or cooler for your convenience and therefore are not constantly releasing cold air and ice last longer.
When you leave your cooler / esky or fridge and go outside their camp for any period of time to ensure that animals do not fall on him and try to reach the contents.
If you prepare some frozen food before leaving home, store them in plastic containers instead esky / fridge or freezer. This will help keep the temperature lower while frozen. When the food is defrosted you will have some easy to prepare meals.
Dry foods should be placed in safe deposit boxes or tubs and put out of site Animal and out of the sun. Keep them in your vehicle, trailer, tent etc
If your family as gelatin or something similar that makes the morning, place in a suitable plastic container, place it in the refrigerator or freezer next to the ice. Be ready for sweets easier later in the day.
Veges and fruit are usually difficult to maintain for more than a few days, whether it be cold if you keep in the refrigerator or cooler, or sweating in a box or insulated bag. The only way I have found helps is to wrap the fruit or veges loosely in a paper towel or cloth tea towels and keep them in an insulated bag with a zipper little open and out of the sun. Just wash them just before using, especially lettuce and just wash the part that will be used.
If food smells off, no are outdated or not look good, do not use them, not worth getting an upset stomach or worse "the chuckys.
Never be tempted to cook something in his tent, a spark or flame touch anything flammable is very dangerous.
Food can be measured before and kept in ziplock bags for make it easy preparation. Instead of taking a large bag of rice for example. Work out how many meals you will need and take the proper amount. Do the same with other foods and you find that you will take less, therefore a smaller box or tub will be required?
Wash dishes as soon as possible after the food and dispose of their waste in the box or in the nearest in a responsible manner without encouraging wildlife to visit their camp.
