2008 Gillhams Fishing Resorts Krabi Thailand Review
What a year 2008 was – the first Gillhams was open all year. First, the doors opened to fishermen in August 2007, and fishermen first fish were my old friends Joe and Taylor Terry Eustace. Arapaima Terry caught his first time here, and to this day remains my favorite photo arapaima. Many of my own friends and fisheries enforcement, and they all warned me how difficult this business is. I did not believe them, but now I know why. In the course of a year we met great people really lovely, some OK and some very horrible. Luckily, the really nice, far more numerous than the s one ——-! examples perfect are people complaining because they have not had a great arapaima when he was 130 pounds, or say I have not had any big fish today, when they had a couple over 60 pounds or is a bit slow when a fish was 100 pounds in the morning and 150 pounds of fish in the afternoon! There was even one guy who caught 150 pounds, 220 pounds and 340 pounds, arapaima a carp of 60 pounds and two red lines of 50 pounds and 60 pounds in one day everybody says OK but not what I expected! Christ I love to fish your local lake. Another who heard is: "The line was broken – is rubbish." No, because it broke not know how to play the fish, and trying to stop a beast of more than 300 pounds to 30 miles per hour, something has to go! The list is endless, but the happy faces smiling like a decent fisherman catches a big fish is much greater than the idiots! Seeing adult males to mourn, and to catch fish of your dreams is what it is for us. What a pity that good and sometimes not catch the Whackers prats!
Hatreds are the boys have not seen for 15 years suddenly come to see us at a show, announcing that he lost his contact information to me, his partner lost then ask a colleague rate! Come on – I've never been very hard to find! Or those who come for vacations and make your best friend in the world, and invite home or a couple of days thinking that now qualify for free vacations for life! What advice to someone who cuts deal to take home to increase its capabilities, only to present us with a bill that later – people who bring lots of trash will never use and we want to buy. Or moaning because the drinks and snacks in our refrigerator using our power, and our staff filling is five pence more than a supermarket 15 miles, then fill the refrigerator with the things that saved three pounds with a taxi fare ten pounds. Stopping or cope with them, and then taking a home a few bits along with our bits and bobs – we hook material liaison, bait needles, pliers etc stolen each month. We even had a prat who complained so much that you could buy some expensive items he had brought with him we buy things from him to get free of our sponsors, only for him to remove it and use it for their holiday and then take home some of the bits that have been forced to buy!
Then we get to go to the local pet store and buy some goldfish, and they want to use as bait in our lake! No wonder carp pox is increasing in the UK with these idiots coming! All our fish are photographed in the water to protect them; 100 pounds of fish rebound the ground makes no favors. Anyway, for the final photo, who cares?
Wanting to keep them out of water for three cameras and images a video, and then want your partner to keep them all in the name of "look what I have! Get the camera ready, work out of their angle and background, and take a couple of good shots – believe it or not is the fish that matters. Kids who receive a repeat capture – this happens when fishing a swim for a holiday, as many of the predators are territorial. If a fish photographed two days ago in the dark in the same swim, why the hell would want another picture? Even if you are using a different shirt? Well folks, the list goes on and on, but 90% of the fishermen who come here are concerned about the welfare of fish and want them to be as pristine for the next person. We met so many lovely people, for us is greater than evil, but when the loot is bad today. If you're one of those people, please do us all a favor and stay away.

Julian prize goldfish, I hate the rain, kind of the rainy season between June and October. There are still many good morning sunshine between rain storms. But regardless,
Gillhams produces large quantities of fish each month – check the newsletters on our website where you can see returns for every month since we opened.
Highlights of each month from 2008 to us are the following …
January. Joe Taylor taking two hours to land a Mekong catfish of 85 pounds and the lake will stop for breakfast in the process. Then we had dreams become reality in the form of arapaima. First it was Simon who came on Wynn an entry for a day after the holiday and moved two flights, promising to stay in Gillhams to catching a arapaima. Finally landing 160 pounds, began to mourn for joy. Then there was John the policeman who had spent years around the world for arapaima, after coming here and landing six up to 200 pounds. When you see the good guys win makes our job worthwhile.
February. This month finally saw the realization of all holiday bungalows in the Gillhams, swimming pool and in fact, our dream is taking shape. Top fishing this month has to go to 11-year-old Andrew Purton who stuck through pain to land a Mekong catfish 130 pounds fully without help after a fight of two hours, only to follow up the next day with a arapaima 170 pounds, plus goldfish award a nice 30 pounds of Julian. It is a strange name for a tent, I can only boast of many years hurray family were in Thailand the young man when he landed his tent Julian Gold Award, and the name stuck. Anyone out there have any suggestions?
March. This was special for me as Back home after a long 11 weeks Gillhams promotion throughout Europe. This month saw four over 300 pounds landed arapaima, to coincide with a fishing legend and world champion Dave Roper, one by Dave Negus, one by Alan Jones, and last but not least one to Keith Purton. But this was special, Keith had caught Gillhams in October 2007 and reached 350 pounds arapaima, which was filmed by Lee Jackson and found its way to YouTube. From there they spied National Geographic and willing to come Keith here and film a new version of the catch. To cut a long story short, Keith caught the fish as much for the film crew! What makes this unique story is that no one else had caught this fish. Beware that appears on their screens at the National Geographic channel. "Man vs Fish – Arapaima" should be considered in the United Kingdom in February this year.
April. There was a very good crowd with good fish caught. Joe Burkett caught a carp PB 98 pounds, adding 78 pounds at their best. Comments on the lake had the bad luck was 2 pounds heavier for a ton – strange, some people! Walk around the lake, one night I found myself Bob Martin with piles of capital set by the bank. My guide Gollock drooled as Bob had ranked as councils – a red tail more than 50 pounds was a lot, and arapaima other. I had noticed on my way to the good fish that appears at the bottom, so I went down, and cast of first obtained a 70-pound catfish red tail and then take a arapaima 380 pounds! Gollock binned the points, and not even buy me a beer, grass tight! Also another special fish for me Rebecca was when my daughter got a PB arapaima 200 pounds.
May. Now this was the month of my old friend Rob Maylin came and pulled like a demon, showing just what he is capable. It began in the arapaima, breaking the record for the most part of the lake in a day with between five and 300 pounds-plus, rose between tent, as it can only Rob, landing up to 65 pounds. All the time was carrying kept complaining Because I did not think we have enough Mekong catfish in the lake. Then they get hooked, and after an hour I was knackered, but the fish showed no signs of fatigue. After an hour of agony, Rob asked us how long these things to fight for. When he answered that one large can take three hours, panicked in the case it would run out of energy before the fish. After 2 hours the network fell into a new world record of 185 pounds of catfish in the Mekong 2 oz His comment was: "No tot many actions of those!" Le said a reissue of a support, but we got lost in the old fashion Carper real time. That same month, another legend John Allen got a couple of arapaima in 330 pounds and 350 pounds. John, for those old enough to remember, had caught a big catfish for many years in Cassien, France. Never thought it would take freshwater fish larger in life, but had not counted Gillhams. Finally, this month to remind Mike Woodley equaled the world record 64 Chao Phraya catfish pounds. Did not claim that we have caught fish as twice the
size in the lake, and would rather wait to break the record in style!
June. This was a months just as our customer and friend Sean Fay of the Oxford area sadly passed away. On a lighter note our chef Steve did not take our warnings arapaima be aggressive in the cage, as they seem docile. Poor old Steve leaned over to take a closer look he had just helped to land when wham, gave a Glasgow kiss causing a nice black eye, a split lip and a loose tooth! June was a month very humid with a few customers and no fish monster – mind there were a lot good fish landed – 171 fish only 13 customers. All who came had at least one of the 25 arapaima landed this month.
July. The time for this month was better than usual, even if we did get a flash flood. Our old mate John Allen appeared again, John lives on the other side of Thailand, but only 1 hour and 20 minutes of a flight. Their target species this time was the Siamese carp. The fishing started slowly to John, but after bait largely by a couple of days the carp moved in. John landed 57 carp in the coming days, with three to 50 pounds, 60 pounds in two, and the icing on the cake in the shape Siam tent of 90 pounds, what John the bigger the tent of his career. John acknowledges Gillhams gives you a buzz bigger than any place that has fish, and from a guy who has done everything we take as a supplement. July also gave me another fishing achievement after a year of trying, finally Susser my arapaima method first fly caught at 150 pounds, which made me the person to land a fly in 14th in the world. Yes, now we have the flight pattern and tactics reasonably Susser easy to take with this method.
August. The large arapaima were back in the sequences over 300 pounds with four of this month as the time set usual for the month dry between rainfalls. Sjoerd Holland was the star of this month, and apart from a £ 300 more than arapaima had a confrontation with one of our Mekongs turbo. Now this fish had a history with it … Sjoerd had agreed with "She who must be obeyed" to a five-day fishing, after five days tourism travel. So it was with disappointment that the suitcases on the fifth day, but seeing his face suggested I make a couple of hours free in the morning 7 a.m.-9 a.m. before his girlfriend awoke. Everything was going well when in eight fifty-five Leonie appeared on the balcony pointing to his watch. While doing so, the alarm was a single ink, Sjoerd beaten and fish was on a mission. Sjoerd Poor landed a Mekong catfish 120 pounds about three hours later to the chagrin of his girlfriend. That was the last time the holiday was seen fishing Sjoerd, but said it was worth it and is rebooked, so everything must be quiet now in his kingdom!
September. This was the month we had the equipment Fishermen mail more. We had lots of rain, but the fish were used for this time now. They reached more than 300 pounds three arapaima between the three-man team, with a total of 228 fish. Some punches were removed but I am not allowed to talk about Adam Parker because he is angry! Fishermen also Mailing star Gary Newman had an embarrassing situation which he attributed to drinking – email me for details! The boys also had red tail catfish 75 pounds and 70 pounds of carp, not to mention a rare 20-pound Wallago Attu Vince. My old fishing buddy Matt Harefield appeared this month caught the biggest fish of his life with a fine 70-pound Siamese carp, besides a good pair of arapaima £ 180 and £ 200.
October. The IGFA finally Rob Maylin accepted world record in 185-pound Mekong catfish Damien 2 oz of Siam Fishing Tours Jules gave his partner a lesson in fishing. Now Jules has never caught a 200 arapaima pound-plus, but it has some strange theories that do not feed in sunlight, which is a bit like when I fished for years in the Colne Valley when the carp did not feed when the bars were open. You have to be in it to win it, and it was Damien – landed six species for six PB topped by a 220 lbs arapaima – uncle top, fishing superior. While this was happening, a guest who almost shares my name, David Gillman, landed our arapaima 350 pounds more, Henry. Another fellow came to the end of the month – "I talk a lot, not me" Derek Mallows, also known as ladders. He took the short periods, but when he did the man was a machine. I wanted to land a fish over 100 pounds and finished with four arapaima £ 170 plus a Mekong catfish of 110 lbs. Add the catfish and carp red tail more 50-pound Siamese, and you can see why everyone in Horton is using earplugs now!
November. Well, it happened this month as my age mates Lee Jackson, Len Gurd, Dave Woods, John Allen and Chris Turnbul all descended on us. Sideways, partying and a little fishing, good fishing party was had by all. Len has even made a DVD of the event, so watch that one, "because it has a Jacko arapaima 250 pounds on it. Now we have stripes the lake from the first day, but none were landed ever. This changed when Martin told Roker fishing for a day off to be offered to the first person to land, and the next day had a 90 lbs line and claimed the prize! Both happened, and spilled some good fish, but I must mention the family of fishermen Great Yarmouth (someone has to live there!) And Lin Lloyd Clark with Luke, her 14 year old son. Wow, this family were fishing mad, and could all fish. Lloyd landed seven arapaima with the best at 340 pounds. Lin, not to be outdone, landed a PB carp of 70 pounds between his count of the fish. Then Lucas came in the way super and stole the show when, after a full screen without the help of how to play a great fish to put adults to shame, he landed a Mekong catfish 90 pounds after a battle of 1 ½ hours.
December. This was another busy month with so many visitors that we can not list them all. But the fish of the note 400 lbs arapaima Len Gurd's caught on his last cast on her last night. This fish gave Len a battle to remember, that lasts more than two hours. GITS old club 'is Len formed with Jacko and Wood to be the founding members. To participate just to be able to drink large quantities of wine, use women's clothing, and have caught a arapaima! We rounded a year full of Gillhams be opened with a big Christmas party – three
