History Beer Brewing

Craft or Mass Production Beer?
I would like to know how many people really enjoy drinking non-flavor piss color beer? I enjoy a good micro brew any day over a Budweiser or a Miller. These beers are only good if all you want to do is chug them. Micro brews are excellent in taste as well in body and color. Hand craft brews have a long and interesting history. So why aren’t more people aware of the culture of micro brews?
Both
Many more people are aware of the craft beer market today than just 20-30 years ago. The general public and beer drinking communities are becoming more aware and more knowledgeable of craft beers and beer in general. You saying this tells me you are either new to beer drinking or just have not studied recent beer history as you claim.
Do not fall into the trap of “beer fools” which think that all craft/microbrewery beers are great or even good. Many of the craft beers are no more beers than the macro brews are (for those that disdain the macros) in direct comparisons. The fact is for those that know how to judge and taste a beer properly the macro-American Style Pilsners are subtly nice beers.
As far as chugging beer sure they are easy to drink. Do you tend to drink water faster than coffee? Sure you do all people do. Coffee is heavy in taste and mouthfeel and is meant to be drunk slowly where water is a free-for-all beverage. In any case, knowledge goes a long way in understanding choice in beer selection.
Compare technical knowledge in beer and brewing of the craft Vs the macro brewers. You will find many more educated and highly educated brewers in the macro breweries than the craft. Also they have not only a more extensive knowledge of science but also a deeper knowledge for brewing science. The main advantage the craft brewers have in the area of beer knowledge is the “styles” of beer and their innovative spirit.
Drunks. Perhaps it is true you find many more beer guzzlers in the beer circles of macro drinkers than the craft beer circles. But do not think for a minute that many of the so-called classy craft drinkers are not without their fools. I have been around beer and the craft beer world for 25+ years and have seen plenty of beer guzzling craft-beer-drinking fools.
To call the Bud/Miller/Coors products beers without flavor clearly tells me you do not know beer and you do not know how to judge one properly.
Heavy flavor or color does not equal quality!
Q: How do you know what piss taste like? Do you actually drink piss?
***A correction to my above statement pertaining to, “piss flavored beer.” I received a rather angry e-mail from the poster that I misread his question so I am correcting my statement above about piss-flavor.
The Q: is piss-colored beer… Yes many beers including: Pilsners, American Pilsners, some Helles, some Wheat beers, some Bitters, etc. have a straw/yellow color that compares to that of urine. But so what, does that mean something more other than barley imparts the color to many styles of beer? Why state such a thing unless you are young and short on knowledge of beer? Thank you, that is all.
