Domestic Beer Listing

domestic beer listing
Where can I find a list of formaldehyde content in domestic beer?

It seems as though different beers give me a headache worse than others. I’m told that it is because of the formaldehyde content in them. I only drink 2-3 beers when i do drink and i was wanting to find the lowest content. Is there also a list for liquor?

US people hate to hear this….

Almost all US beer has it marked on the bottles or cans, “best before (date)”.

This is unique to North America. If it contains formaldehyde or not is another issue. Simple fact is that the vast majority of US beers contain preservatives (chemicals).

True brewed beers get better as time goes by, rather than go bad as US beers do.

As a home brewer, my best beers are at least 2 years old. Outside of the US, most breweries let the beers sit for at least 3 months before bottling allowing it to age and improve, while within the US, they bottle and distribute it straight away to get it on the market and add preservatives to make it consumable. Green beer (not matured) tastes like krap.

It is the preservatives (what ever they are) that cause head aches and sick stomachs.

I am an aussie and have lived in the US. I have had while in the US drank no more than 8 light US beers and was sick as a dog next day. While I could drink certain Canadian full strength beers or those from Mexico or Europe and the next morning, it was like I had not had a drink in the past 8 days.

My tip for you.. if you are prone to getting sick from a small drinking session of US beers, start on the non US beers. No preservatives, no additives, better taste, better flavour and not poisoning your body.
