Beer can be good for your bones
Alcoholic beverages are commonly consumed in places like home, sporting events, restaurants and meetings social. It comes to light or dark beer sold in a variety of flavors. Many people drink because they like the taste. Obviously, the beer can have the benefits of enjoyment. Recently, to new research published in the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture has shown that beer may have other benefits as well. It can be a good source to help prevent osteoporosis.
Osteoporosis is a condition in which bones become weak and brittle due to low bone mass. Activities such as coughing, falling or leaning even lead to bone fractures due to this condition. Researchers have found that an ingredient in beer, known as silicon, has been shown to increase bone mineral density, which can help strengthen bones. A team of researchers from the University of California, Davis discussed beer commercial products and found that beer is actually a rich source of dietary silicon.
Researchers have identified that presence of silicon in the form of beer orthosilicic acid (OSA), which according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), can be an important factor in the growth bone and connective tissue and development. They discovered that hops showed significantly higher levels of silicon, up to four times compared with malts. The research also concluded that high jumped beers should produce a higher concentration of silicon levels.
On average, samples beer commercials that were studied showed a silicon content between 6.4 to 56.5 mg / L. Wheat was also found to have less silicon than barley. So Next time you drink a beer, remember that not only tastes good, but it can help build stronger bones.
