Cheese Beer Fondue

Fondue Help please?
I just made some fondue, these are the ingredients ….. 8 oz. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated 8 oz Swiss cheese grated 2 tbsp. flour 1 tsp. salt 1 / 4 tsp. pepper 1 clove garlic 1 can (12 oz.) Dash Tabasco beer's all ready to go unless you have a ring of fat around the edges of the fondue pot / bowl. Any way to fix this or get rid of it? Company due soon! Thanks! I thought once I solved this problem when a creased piece of paper towel and went around the edge of the pot with him. It worked for about 5 minutes! Shake, stir, stir! Nothing else will work. Recipe sounds delicious. I'm sure it's probably all gone now!
