Beer’s Law Graph
Beer's Law and Absorbance Any help is appreciated!?
I have to calculate the absorbance to determine the percent iron to a laboratory. These are my calculated results for the measurement of concentration of standard dilute solutions of iron (mg Fe / ml) 4.46 * 10 ^ -4 9.92 * 10 ^ -4 1.48 * 10 ^ -3 and my percent transmittance at 510 nm for every 79.1 65.3 57.9 and my calculation was the absorbance at 510 nm 0.185 0.237 0.102 came out So when I tried to plot the concentration absorbance and amount to graph my pending law beers came to 0829. but my teacher said I should be around 213. Could someone please tell me say what I'm doing wrong. O, and when i absorbance calculated using eq. -Log (T). THANK YOU !….
Be careful of the units of concentration. Are plotting absorbance against mg / ml. Plot absorbance vs. concentration – then you might get the desired value. Where appropriate, the molecular weight falls within the slope. I hope, is clear …
