Marketing Tips for Actors "Whatever it takes

My client is very bad … never … became one of my greatest hits! Is it a movie star? Yes! Is it a household name? Almost! Is it Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise? Not at all! But I respect his privacy as I do with all my clients so you must stay in anonymous for now.

When a player requests an interview for the opportunity to work with me as a client coaching career, I always need a shot in the head and return to first. Is this person serious about your career? I ask. Are tools of marketing? training? talent? I do not want to spend months of my time to help them?

Jason had none of the above. He had a quality of perseverance. Even without the core curriculum / headshot called and told me about 20 times trick my assistant to get me on the phone until he had an appointment. We met. It was scary. He had enough weapons to turn up for alerts any rise building in New York City, except mine, obviously. She looked young and enthusiastic, but totally ignorant of what it means an acting career. But Fear was part-lived practically in the street. He said he had just left his "gang", but his scars and tattoos on the face, neck, bald head, hands … good was breathtaking! It was hard to understand what he said except when he said "my quality of sleep of his career-movies." It was almost the only words I understood.

After we met and talked, I gave a list of things to do. I told him to take 6 months to complete everything on the list or not to return.
These were the things in Jason's list:
Enter an acting class or two,
Get speech training,
Get a shot in the head,
Get cast in a B'way few off-off plays to build a resume and credits,
Lost about 40 kilos, the pizza and beer too, I thought
Growing up in the hair, which had a face young child and was only 18 but looked with 28
bald head and the weight
Do some type of clothing other than uniforms and army blood-guerrilla
stained shirt …
Work on your accent is incomprehensible.
It was almost impossible to understand and I do not mean to mutter as the charming Sylvester Stallone. I mean, impossible to understand more than one or two words in a sentence. And the guy wants to be an actor? A communicator?
"If you do all these things, you can come back and we'll talk, "I said.
He answered with assurance: "All that is needed!" That I understood.

I that if I wrote all these petitions had re-consider the quality as a career or simply disappear. But, no. He returned in six months.

Her hair grown in, no tattoos, anywhere! He had them removed. It must have been difficult or painful!
He wore a blue oxford shirt and trousers Ralph Lauren persimmon, expensive shoes and a jacket design for Armani. He had a resume stating that he had studied with four of New York's most respected acting teachers. It must be in class seven days a week. And it must have spent thousands of voice and speech therapy. Must have. I could understand what he was saying. It sounded almost like an actor of the Company Royal Shakespeare. It seemed he was about to enter Harvard. I was stunned. This was a street kid who had been in knife fights and the last band Once that was submitted to an interview.

How did you do, Jason? He just laughed merrily. He knew I was impressed. "What whatever! Said. I have calculated that he must have spent at least $ 10 to 20.000 in the last six months. God knows where and how he obtained the funds. I did not ask.
"Now I can be your customer? "he asked. He performed his monologue for me. He made five monologues-one was with an Italian accent, one was Shakespeare, a comedy one. It was excellent. And it was fun! He could do comedy. I laughed and cried reality. I was touched that he did all that. And I was impressed. He really wants to fulfill his dream.
"Maybe my client," he said. "
How much? I'll pay … whatever it takes! "
Free, I said … you deserve it. I will work for you. "

And we did. We wrote scripts for him and shot him a title = "demo reel"> demo reel-3 in challenging the very different roles. He was brilliant in each. You must take a class at the camera as well. I sent it to our photographer for the current shooting to the head. I introduced him to staff and managers of Los Angeles Marathon , which attended a month later. He has something like 12 offers for representation with the main players and we had to decide who was going to sign. He put a film within two weeks his screen test, blew away and then another and another movie role. This was four years ago. He appeared as a guest star in some Primetime TV Top-always unbelieveably good.

However, a few weeks ago I saw a preview of a movie it's in.
"… Amazing what you've done! Jason … is "Congratulations! I said.
"Thank you … only with your help!" He said.

What I can tell my other career as a coach clients about you? What do you want me tell them?
He laughed and muttered, "smvlsmvmnvfmm!"
What? I could not understand was how they talked.
He I was getting … and laughing.
"Whatever!" He winked and walked away. The press were quick to follow as the fans in Looking for your autograph.

Therefore, I tell my current customers … If Jason can do it … What excuse do you have?
