its not already bad enough that the Phillies swept the cubs at wrigley field, but now he is going to press charges against the man who dumped beer on him during the game???
anyone else disagree with victorino pressing charges?

This is the Dictionary definition of the charge “battery”
1. The act of beating or pounding.
2. Law. The unlawful and unwanted touching or striking of one person by another, with the intention of bringing about a harmful or offensive contact.
my personal opinion is that the guy did not touch or strike the guy himself, and he was not trying to hurt victorino by throwing the beer. all he was doing was trying to distract the guy.
No, the guy who dumped the beer is an idiot who deserves to be punished. At least the guy had the decency to turn himself in once he sobered up.
This will likely get settled out of court, the guy will agree to a certain amount of community service, alcohol counseling, accept a lesser charge or possibly none at all in exchange for certain parole conditions – lifetime ban from Wrigley, no public intoxication type of thing.
It seems like a big deal because it’s in the media, but a degree of common sense usually prevails.
Edit: to second what Fozzy said. I know lots of Cubs fans who are great people and completely embarrassed by this. It’s unfair to blame the actions of a small group on all Cubs fans.
