A guide to restaurants in Calgary

One of the defining elements of a boutique hotel designed for longer stays is the kitchen. If a hotel in this market are no rooms equipped with full kitchen, can not really make the claim that it is a comfortable place to live for a long period time. But the flip side of that coin is that when you stay in a new city is important to leave the house and get a sample of gastro-culture. So, to answer Asked if every employee of the hotel faces a near-constant basis (in the case of a good place to eat?), I composed the following guide to help visitors Calgary to go out and sample the best this city has to offer.
The first thing to determine when looking for a place to eat is what kind of food you're in the mood for. What kind of restaurant you want to go? To speed up this process I have organized this guide by restaurant and type of food, the best example of each.

Fantasy
It is first-class restaurants. For an elegant, modern and, above all the most demanding palates the best option in the city of Calgary is Muse in Kensington. Muse is located in 107 10A St NW, in the heart of fashionable Kensington. The restaurant serves an eclectic mix some Canadian and French cuisine, for a look at the head of his menu www.muserestaurant.ca where you can also make reservations. Reservations can also be made the old fashioned way, giving them a call at 403-670-6873.

Fancy-But-No-Maybe-too-Fancy
If you're in the mood for fantasy, but maybe not too smart there are a number of good options in the city. The Gypsy Wine Bar and Lounge is easily the best of the lot, however. Especially for lunch. The atmosphere is relaxed and low-profile and Mediterranean style menu full of delicious and intriguing elements. My favorite is the lamb burger and dried cranberries. Lunch tends to be busy, but you can call ahead at 403-263-5869.

Steakhouse
The best steakhouse in Calgary is always a competition. Calgary, the so-called Heart of Western New York is located in the province of Alberta, which produces some of the best meat known to mankind. With strict laws treatment herds hills made for free, and all the grass an animal with four stomachs can eat life just does not get much better for a cow. That's why this entry is to be a bit of a surprise. The best cuts for their money in Calgary is not a steakhouse, but an Italian restaurant-bar-market called Mercato. There are lots of other grills in Calgary worthy of honorable mentions (Ric Steakhouse, Chicago Chophouse and Ruth's Chris Steakhouse are all venerable options), but pound for pounds the best steak in town is at 2224 SW 4th Street. Mercato is usually quite busy during dinner, you probably should not even bother trying to go there to eat, if more than 11.45, however. Call ahead at 403-263-5535.

Seafood
landlocked provinces like Alberta are places that never stops get great seafood in. The problem is simply to transport fresh fish is always better tasting than fish that has been frozen. That said, there are still some Calgary excellent places to go eat some former residents of the world's oceans. Oddly, one of the best places in Calgary for seafood is a steakhouse. Yes, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse is also known for its excellent prawns, crab and halibut. Since the restaurant is in the Calgary Tower, this is a kind of double victory for anyone visiting the city. The address is 295-155 9th Avenue SE, and online reservations is 403-246-3636.

Pubs / Sports Halls
Sometimes all I want is a good beer, cold (or warm beer if you're English) and a hamburger. If you're in this situation here in Calgary, which currently has two excellent choices. The first is the Kensington pub, located in Kensington, in the course, Brewsters and the second is located in the center city of the city. Although both places are fairly typical, if well executed, sports pubs there are some differences between the two. The Kensington Pub Brewsters has better food, Brewsters but is also a brewery, so it has beer much better than K-Pub. You can find some decent beer and food at 834 11 Ave SW, and can be seen in its menu www.brewsters.ca . The pub is located in Kensington 10A 207 ST NW and its menu is available online at www.kensingtonpub.com .

East India
If you're looking for some good Indian food, no really only one place worth visiting. The place is a small restaurant called Mirchi, to 12 Avenue and Eighth Street. The food is amazing, the portions are large, and the prices are very reasonable. The place is really very, very small so it would be worthwhile to call ahead 403-245-3663. Try the Chicken Tikka is the best thing that can happen a chicken and the invention of the sauce.

Thai
While we are talking about international food, it may be time to discuss the status of food Thai in Calgary. Basically it boils down to this: there are many good places to get good Thai food in Calgary, but the Rose Garden (112 eighth Ave SW) is by far the best. It is an extremely popular place for lunch, so go early or go to dinner. You can get a hold of them by calling 403-264-1988.

Vietnamese
For Vietnamese in Calgary go to Vietnam Fortune. It is miles ahead of the pack, but better than most. That yes, it's hard to go wrong with Vietnamese food. My favorite is here its submarines. Not really any in particular, all are good. You can find fortune in Vietnam in 1443 Kensington Road NW, and if you are heading there for dinner you can get pretty busy. You can call ahead for reservations at 403-270-7110.

Nellies
For those fortunate to be traveling with your family with them, always Nellies. Nellies is almost an institution in Calgary, are known as much for your service in their food. The best part, from a family perspective, is how they handle children in the restaurant. They go beyond a mile and regular crayons and cloth / Full color on-board games, action figures, dolls and two feet high Godzillas. Hell, even I would play with those toys are so cool. There several locations distributed around Calgary, so your best bet for a track below is click here.

Lunch
Brunch is by far my food favorite, and the best place to get one in the city Dinner is on luxury. The diner has a slick, retro-ish decor fifties, the service is excellent reliability and the menu includes dishes such as astronomically amazing French toast stuffed with homemade brownies yam. Luxury Dinner is located at 804 NE Edmonton Trail, and unfortunately you can not call ahead to make reservations for brunch. However, you can always call ahead to check how full they are … His number is 403-276-5449.

There are thousands of restaurants in Calgary, and only a few are mentioned here. It's also good to note that the restaurants listed here are my personal choices, so do not feel bad if your favorite is not on the list. The point I'm getting is that while this article makes a good point starting, you'll find plenty of places worth around on their own as well. Bon Appetit!
