Beer Statistics Australia

Our government is increasing the cost of "alco-pop" drinks to try to discourage teen drinking. Wont this
we only to buy a bottle of vodka and mix in place? I think this is a bit ridiculous. They are raising the price of drinks like Smirnoff Black, Bundy and Cola and Bacardi Breezers. The government of the surveyed students, and something like 49% of them said their last drink was an "alco-pop, compared with 20% 11% beer and wine. And their genaralist and statistics sound pretty vague. I can not see that this increase in prices would make teens drink less, simply change their beverage of choice if it was economically more feasible to buy a bottle much stronger. I have to say this is the government trying to take advantage of a noble cause that name. I live in Tasmania, Australia. I'd love to know what you think, agree or disagree
I was thinking exactly the same, I know if it was only a slight price difference between 'alcopops' and spirits in the bottle so I bought a bottle. That said, there are more standard drinks in a bottle of vodka as opposed to a 4 or 6 pack of alcopops, so that teenagers and binge drinkers are much more likely to consume alcohol irresponsibly. By the way, who gets the money extra points to increased prices? The real bottle shop, manufacturers of alcohol, or the government? Also, by increasing the cost of alcopops, the bottle shops outside of their own pockets, not just underage drinkers to regads, but consumers in general?
