Unlike other ancient cultures, the food was generally abundant in ancient Egypt. The Egyptians relied on the annual flooding of the Nile to create fertile land producing crops that fed the masses. Scenes of animal husbandry and slaughter, was a fixture on the walls of Egyptian tombs. The Egyptians made wine from grapes, dates, figs and pomegranates. wheat beer was very popular and sometimes fruity.
A Greek scholar named University who traveled to Egypt in the third century wrote that Egyptian beer was very strong and aid in the enjoyment of song and dance. The Delta region and the western desert is filled with many wineries.
The life of Ancient Egypt have offered the amenities that many of us enjoy today, however, food was rarely a problem because the land and the Nile provides a rich variety of meats, vegetables and fruit for the citizens Egypt.
