Hello, I'm looking for a recipe to make homemade root beer enough to fill a barrel full size. Any information on where I can get the ingredients are also welcome. Thank you.
Root Beer soda from the Frugal Gourmet Family Cookbook Total Time: <10 minutes Serves: 8 Ingredients Directions 2 cups sugar 1 cup water 1 tablespoon root beer extract 64 oz carbonated water 1. Add 2 cups of sugar in one cup water and heat just until everything is dissolved and clear. 2. Add 1 tablespoon root beer extract to complete syrup. 3. Place 2 ounces of syrup in a glass ounce of sodium-12. 4. Add some ice and soda to fill: 8 ounces of soda two ounces of syrup. Stir only once to avoid work carbonation. Root beer syrup is available in a pharmacy well (no prescription needed, of course) but may be cheaper and available in large amounts, if you buy online. Google.
