Beer Olympics Rules

beer olympics rules
Should Beer Pong Be An Onlympic Event? ?

Start out with 32 countries.
Pool play with 4 teams to a group.
After all teams play each other in group play, top 2 advance.
Format just like the FIFA World Cup, basically.

-Team must win 3 out of 5 for the match.
-Each team is allowed 5 players and a coach. 2 play per game, absolutly no substitutions during play. May substitute after game.
-Beer must be filled to the top.
-No water unless you are sitting out a game.
-Type of beer must be the Olympic’s host country’s choice.
- Other standard Beer Pong rules apply.

What would you add/subtract/change to these rules?

Also, Do you agree?

Who would be the team to beat that wins Gold every Olympics?
I say Germany

Who Contends every Olympics, but come up short, every time?
Ireland

Contenders for Bronze:
USA
England
Mexico
Italy
Ice Land

Teams that have no shot in placing anything:
Canada
Most African Countries
Australia

Given that the type of beer is at the choice of the hosts and the next one is in London I’d say GB is a lock in for gold….. can’t see the Germans being able to stomach 10 pints of “Theakstons Old Peculiar” or “Davy’s Old Wallop” (what is to them to them warm and flat beer).

The Irish are always a wild card and can certainly hold a drop or two trouble is they like a good time so much, they’d probably all go out on the beer the night before for a party and forget to turn up… it’s a fool who discounts the Irish at anything though.

No knowledge of Mexico and Italy seems a strange choice for beer (wine maybe) Iceland dangerous, but I think they go in for spirits more…..but again I have limited opinion.

Frankly I reckon you have to watch the Czechs (best lager in the world ?) and other East Europeans… those boys can put it away with great abandon… the Belgians might also be a surprise…. same thing applies to that lot about British beer though….

I’d also expect a better showing form the Aussies and Canadians than you do (do I detect a bit of baiting there ?)

The US though…….please, maybe if we put them up against a UK girls team. I once had a drinking comp with some off duty cops in Oklahoma…. bless them. Lovely blokes, big lads and hard as nails, (ex marines some of ‘em) but couldn’t drink for toffee. After an hour I was doing 1 beer + JD & coke to their 1 beer just to make it fair.

“US beer is liking making love in a canoe ….. f*****g close to water”

The US has many things to be proud of… it’s beer isn’t one of them !
