Beer Lambert Law Equation

beer lambert law equation
how do i calculate percentage purity?

i was to make a 1:500 dilution of chloroform and bilirubin 2mg/ml in dimethylsulphoxide, so i added 0.01ml bilirubin to 5ml chloroform. it was read using a spectrophotometer at 453nm, and gave 0.106.

from this i’ve been asked to calculate the percentage purity of the bilirubin. i was given the bilirubin’s molercular weight (584) and the molar extinction coefficient (60700) but i’m at a loss of what to do with it. am i right in thinking this is to do with the beer-lambert law equation?

Yeah drink a beer and lambert (my old chemistry teacher) will help you figure it out
