Why is wine high in alcohol?

Why is that the cider from other fruits such as apples or peaches is on the same alcohol content (alcohol by volume) and beer (5-7%) while the wine has alcohol content anywhere 11-20%? is possible to make apple wine, grape or cider?

Mainly because of two things a wine yeast can tolerate a higher alcohol content than a yeast die off before but all wine is fermented for longer than beer, allowing more alcohol to accumulate. Regarding the other question, you can make apple wine, in fact, I've done some that was good enough. Do not try grape cider will be too sweet as sugar have not been fermented out
