Beer Food Chart

what equipment would a captain in the 17-1800s take aboard their ship?
i already have canned food, fresh beef, beer, a large box of stationary, charts, instruments, sketched maps and weapons. i just need a a bit more equipment that youd think they would take
They didn’t have canned food back then. Beef was heavily salted and had to be steeped in fresh water before being cooked and eaten. They didn’t call seaman’s drink beer; it was called grog. The captain had some wine. Around 1800 sailing ships took along limes to prevent scurvy. You also omitted fresh drinking water, compass, sextant, nautical almanac, musical instruments (they had singing and dancing in the evenings) bible, and cat o’ nine tails.
