Beer Expiration Codes
Help decoding expiration dates?
How do I decode the expiration dates on my tastefully simple foods?
i have the bountiful beer bread, its code is
DE9113S
nanas apple cake mix, its code is
DG9043S
and perfect parmesan biscuit mix, its code is
07102131F 1209
Those are not expiration dates. Those are batch numbers.
One possible exception is the 1209 in the last item. That could be a date.
I you are in the US then you need to look more closely and see if you find a sell by or use by date.
Even in Europe the idea is to make the expiration dates INTELLIGIBLE to the consumer and not hidden.
If there is no date that you can find any where on the package then see if you can find a website for the product. Short of that you can assume, with those sorts of items, that they are acceptable after two years of purchase but “best” after only one year.
