Beer City Skateboards

Older skaters, do you miss the old style of skateboarding?

I refer to the skaters of the 80, 90 and earlier this decade, when skateboarding was hated, metro, uncool to the mainstream, rebellious. When punk rock, thrash metal and old school hip hop was the music, not gangsta rap, pop-rock or emo. When the skaters skate in areas that are not supposed too, when they had shows on MTV and brands are owned and operated by the skaters, not general cooperation. When he cared a skateboard and everyone gave appearance. What happened to that way of skating? The good news is marked as 1031 and the city of beer are trying to bring that back. Do you miss that.

I have not forgotten the old ways? No, just because I'm still there, but some minor modifications. Drain still backyard pools, but usually skate in the local skatepark that has a complete set with tile and pool coping. I have not changed on board a popsicle stick. I prefer a 10 "panel pool: Santa Cruz deck, Indy trucks and Spitfire wheels. When I'm on fragmentation, I still listen to JFA, Minus-One, Frontside Five, Aggression, Anti-Flag, Dead Kennedys, etc., but it is an iPod, not a cassette. The iPod is however connected to the inputs a vintage boom box. Of course, my looks. Yes, the mohawk is real. (The avatar is pretty close to what they really look) I am covered with tattoos and have many facial piercings. I rock knee striped socks and shoes opt for old school basketball shoes instead of skate. I wear skate shirts and pants cut short. The good news is that, while skateboarding is extremely popular, there are parts that are still quite underground. Both longboard skating and swimming are still pretty underground. Both require a greater effort from the skaters and the need for a close-knit small group to survive. Check out oldmanarmy.com
