Beer Bread Recipe Tastefully Simple
making beer bread from a box … help!?
so I have a box mix beer bread (from Tastefully Simple) and I have no beer or carbonated drinks at all (wait root beer and coke). I want to make Italian bread to go with dinner tonight … Do you think you can only use liquid regular? All the mix required is 12 ounces of any beverage with gas and 3 tablespoons of butter. I found two recipes for breakfast bread using buttermilk and orange juice (Not together) instead. What about just water if I can add herbs to flavor it? Should I use buttermilk? Thanks!
I called my sister, which is a simple representative of good taste – I said you really need a carbonated beverage – that's what reacts with yeast to make bread rise. She said you could give it a try, but your best bet would be to make a quick dash to the store (including seltzer water works).
