What can we use to replace the beer in the mix of fish and chips? And the wine in the recipe for the cake? something alcholic

Hi – I like to use beer in the dough – if you use non-alcoholic sparkling apple cider (you can buy in the soda aisle of your local store) that works equally well and taste is excellent. I can not think there are many cake recipes that use wine anyway – but if they say they were making a fruit cake – you can use orange juice instead of alcohol. My Gran used to do that and it was delicious. I used to make lemonade scones (you know – the cakes with jam and whipped cream on top) – use a cup of thick cream, a cup of fresh lemonade soda gas (you know – Sprite or 7up) and 3 cups flour. Mix gently. Spread about 2 inches thick – cut circles (I use a glass dipped in flour) – to a baking tray and bake in a hot oven for about 10 minutes (until the tops are light brown.) The increase in fat and delicious – Cut them in half if only cools and gets a big scoop of strawberry jelly and a tablespoon of heavy cream whipped – so, so, so delicious!
