1. STONE MOUNTAIN PARK

2. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. National Historic Site
Spread over half a mile from Auburn Avenue, make the emotional and unforgettable visit for the neighborhood that had a great influence on the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the civil rights movement. On this trip, visitors can see where Dr. King was born, worship, preached and is buried.
The visitor center has audio visual displays and artifacts that dive deep into the life of Dr. King and the heart of who struggled and fought for racial equality. Start your day here and sign up for a tour of the birthplace of Dr. King. The tour is very popular, so you will to wait. If the wait is long, use the time to do a self-guided tour of the other buildings.
One of the buildings on the site, Ebenezer Baptist Church was home church of Dr. King throughout his life. He spent his formative years here, learning about the importance of religion, family and non-violence. Following the footsteps of his father and grandfather, Dr. King served as Senior Pastor at Ebenezer during the civil rights movement. It was there where he gave inspiring sermons preaching love, tolerance and equality. The original altar and benches are still intact and on display for visitors.
Now maintenance services to New Horizon Sanctuary across the street, the church is still home to one of the wealthiest congregations in Atlanta. Visit on Sundays to hear the glorious pipe organ gospel choir.
