What you have to do to become a substitute teacher in California?
I'm a waiter and go to school too, but im a bit sick bartender and wanted to pursue a teaching career after college and expose myself to think would be perfect substitute teaching … but I do not know what credentials I need to be a substitute teacher.
Currently each school district establishes the requirements. You certainly have to take the CBEST exam no matter what. You must provide a replacement for the emergency permit through the CTC (California Commission on Teacher Credentialing). Most districts want to have your degree, although not necessarily required. Substitute teaching is a great way to expose themselves to the field of education. If you can not replace is always worthwhile to volunteer a school and find out what this is all about.
