Bartending Book

What is a good way to get a bartending job?
Currently I have no experience in the bar, but I'm turning 18 soon, and I'd get a part-time job as a waiter. I bought a couple of books on the bar. What advice would you give to someone in my position. Also school is barman worth the money? Thanks!
Bartending is a great way to make money if you are made for him. Bartending schools, in my opinion are a waste of time for most. Experience is king in this area and the schools that do not count as experience. If you had the experience of waiting at tables and are looking for a job as a barman (inexperienced bar) would have a better chance of being hired someone with a high school diploma and inexperienced barman server. Contrary to what many think, the mixed drinks is the easiest and the last thing to get involved. This results in a quick and easy. Bartending is more about stress management, multi-task, be quick with the simple math in his head, a small transmitter good and just, in general, be efficient, friendly and reliable in a fast paced environment. With that said, But even if we encourage waitering get a job or possibly a bar back position. Or you could try your luck at a local pub, where it is usually slow. Sometimes they will hire a nice person with no experience if you show genuine interest in learning. From there the sky is the limit. The bottom line is you have to be able to handle serving people in a fast paced environment and all the "Education" in the world will not help. The owners want the education experience, hands down, every time! Here the site with a lot of good reading for someone who wants to bartend or wait tables. Good luck to you! http://earnbiggertips.blogspot.com/2009/06/bartending-school-experience-and.html
